Honorable Mayor Glass, Vice Mayor Healy, and Council Members Albertson, Barrett, Renee, Harris, and
Kearney`.
I strongly urge your support and approval for item 5E on your upcoming June 6th Regular City Council
Meeting- "Resolution. authorizing the City Manager to execute the Memorandum of Understanding
establishing Membership in the Bay Area Water Reuse Authority" [sic]. The staff report refers to the proper
name of the. organization --the North Bay Water Reuse Authority (NBWRA).
I currently serve as a Board Member on the Authority representing the Sonoma County Water Agency and
believe this agency would help further augment and expedite the City ofPetaluma's recycled water program.
Furthermore, the NBWRA has obtained authorization from Congress to receive funds through the Bureau of
Reclamation for a total of $100m. Two months ago, while in Washington DC, I had the opportunity to meet
with Commissioner Mike Connor, Head of the Bureau of Reclamation who offered his personal support of
the tri county collaboration and program, which offers a myriad of benefits to the North Bay region.
I encourage you to look through the NBWRA website at http: / /nbwra.orgl or feel free to call me with any
specific questions or concerns. Thank you for considering this request.
nd ,
David A. Rabbitt
