of the City of Petaluma, California
AUTHORIZING ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER T® APPLY F®R
MTC TRANSIT CAPITAIJ IMPROVEMENTS GRANT

2 WHEREAS, the City Council has expressed a strong desire to undertake a specific
3 planning process in the area surrounding the old railroad station; and
4
5 WHEREAS, the City Council has expressed a strong desire to promote expanded transit
6 opportunities, particularly for intermodal transportation interface in the central Petaluma area;
7 and;
8
9 WHEREAS, sitting as the Petaluma Community Development Commission, the Council
10 has set aside $450,000 for preparation of the specific plan focusing on intensive transit oriented
11 land uses, particularly affordable housing, in concert with intermodal transfer opportunities; and
12
13 WHEREAS, said P.C.D.C. funds constitute the match required for the Transit Capital
14 Improvements grant;
15
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Assistant City Manager is hereby
17 authorized to make application for said grant.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
