This should also be provided to council as part of the package for 'item 3a - -- Original Message---- - From: barry bussewitz fmailto :barryalbert(@comcast.netl Sent: Monday, June 20, 20119 :53 AM To: Mike Harris; councilman .albertson(@gmail.com dave Tiffany Renee Cc.: Brown, .,_John Subject: road diet Dear Council Members, glass.; Teresa Barrett; Mike Healy; I live at Sixth and F and have been using Petaluma Boulevard South for over twenty years with car, bike, dog and on foot. I am extremely eager for the city to implement the road diet from Washington to E Street because this cramped and crowded portion of the Boulevard stands to benefit tremendously from improved circulation in the heart of our downtown and theatre district. I have really appreciated the improvement experienced on Petaluma Boulevard North where the earlier road diet has been successful, based both on my personal use and on the report that city staff prepared for today's council meeting (improved traffic flow,, fewer accidents, etc.). I trust the City can and will make sure the loading zones are properly situated and designed so that our merchants`will be happy with a tremendous improvement that will benefit businesses, residents and visitors, bikes, dogs and others. This actually highlights a, key reason that my family and .I chose to live in Petaluma and to live in walking proximity to downtown: pedestrian access to banks, shops, hardware, entertainment, coffee shops and dining. This accessibil -ity also reinforces our lively tourist business and downtown viability, and will enhance the ease of enjoying our "social and 'business community. Thank you'so much for bringing this project forward!
