4 RESOLUTION AgJTIIOIZIZING DOG OWNERS TO EXERCISE
5 TIIEIR ANIMALS O>FF TIIE LEASH IN DESIGNATED PARKS

8 WIIEREAS, the City Council has requested the Recreation, Music
9 and Parks Commission to address concerns raised about dogs in parks; and
10
11 WHEREAS, the Recreation, Music and Parks Commission has
12 investigated how best to control the use of parks by dog owners exercising
13 their animals; and
14
15 V6IIIEIZEAS, the City Council of the City of Petaluma has required
16 dog owners ,while exercising their animals to have the means on their
17 person, to clean up after their animal; and
18
19 ~]VIIEREAS, the City Council of the City of Petaluma has authorized
20 dog owners to exercise their animals off the leash in designated areas.

22 NO~V, TI-IEREPORE, ~E IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
23 the City of Petaluma does hereby authorize the Parks and Recreation
24 Department to establish exercise areas for dogs, within designated parks,
25 whereby dog owners may exercise their dogs off the leash.
