HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2007-063 N.C.S. 04/16/2007 Resolution No. 2007-063 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPOINT HEARING OFFICERS TO CONDUCT HEARINGS PER CHAPTERS 1.10 THROUGH 1.15 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE WHEREAS, on July 3, 2007 the City Council adopted Ordinance 2250 N.C.S., commonly known as the "Code Enforcement Ordinance"; and, WHEREAS, the Code Enforcement Ordinance (Chapters 1.10 through 1.15 of the Petaluma Municipal Code) provides for administrative enforcement as a tool to gain compliance; and, WHEREAS, prior to any administrative enforcement action being taken, a Hearing Officer must be appointed to conduct administrative hearings; and, WHEREAS, Section 1.10.030(K) of the Petaluma Municipal Code, the definition of a "Hearing Officer" provides that the City Council or "any person designated by the City Council" can appoint a Hearing Officer. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOIJVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager as its designee to appoint Hearing Officers to conduct administrative hearings. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
