JUL ~ 1994 Resolution No. 94-160 N ~.~. of the City of Petaluma, California ' 1 DECLARING CANVASS OF RETURNS AND RESULTS 2 OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION 3 HELD JUNE 7, 1994, WITH THE 4 STATEWIDE CONSOLIDATED PRIMARY ELECTION 5 AND ABANDONING THE PROPOSED ASSESSMENT 6 WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma conducted a Special Election on June 7, 1994, in 7 conjunction with the Statewide Consolidated Primary Election; and, 8 WHEREAS. the City of Petaluma submitted Measure E -Police and Fire Assessment 9 (ballot wording stated below) to the voters of the City of Petaluma; and, "Measure E -May the Petaluma City Council, for ten years, levy a maximum special assessment of $62.00 annually per detached yES single-family dwelling and amounts for other land uses as stated in the assessment report only for Police and Fire services protecting real property (revenues from which are intended by the City NO Council to be added to the current General Fund allocation of $9.5 million for Police and Fire services)?" 1 o WHEREAS, the votes from said election were received and canvassed by the Sonoma 11 County Elections Department, and the returns thereof were ascertained and 12 declared in all respects as required by law; and, 13 WHEREAS, City Council acknowledges that the assessment is abandoned due to the 14 measure receiving less than 50 % approval of the voters: 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Petaluma ~6 as follows: 17 (1) The City Clerk is hereby instructed to enter this Resolution on the minutes of this 18 meeting as a statement of the result of said election; 4 Resolution Canvassing June 7, 1994, Election tl 1 Page 1 of 2 pages Res.
