HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions 2011-108 N.C.S. 07/11/2011Resolution No. 2011 -108 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California AUTHORIZING THE POSITION ALLOCATION OF POLICE LIEUTENANT IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, the City wishes to reorganize the Police Department by abolishing two Police Captain positions and permitting the two Police Captains to retreat into vacant Police Lieutenant positions; and, WHEREAS, the City has one existing vacant Police Lieutenant position and requires one additional vacant Police Lieutenant; and, WHEREAS, with the allocation of an additional Police Lieutenant position, the two Police Captains will have positions to which they can retreat without displacing a less senior employee, thus avoiding the eventual result of the layoff of a Police Officer. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby authorize the position allocation of Police Lieutenant in the Police Department effective with the adoption of this Resolution.
