HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 94-214 08/01/1994 i/ i . ra C~ ~ FZesolution No. 94-214 N.C.S. 1 of the City of Petaluma, California 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA ADOPTING 4 THE SONOMA COUNTY INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN, NON- 5 DISPOSAL ELEMENT, SITING ELEMENT, THE MITIGATION MONITORING AND 6 REPORTING PROGRAM FOR NON-DISPOSAL FACILITIES, AND ADOPTING 7 FINDINGS PURSUANT TO THE CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT 8 REGARDING THE FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT 9 10 11 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Petaluma is committed to the reduction of 12 solid waste and compliance with AB939; and 13 14 WHEREAS,' the City Council of the City of Petaluma recognizes the necessity for all 15 jurisdictions within the County of Sonoma to work together towards this end; and 16 17 WHEREAS, the Sonoma County Integrated Waste Management Plan and Siting Element 18 demonstrates the long-term ability of county-wide diversion programs in accomplishing the 19 waste reduction goals identified in Petaluma's Household Hazardous Waste Element and Source 20 Reduction and Recycling Element; and 21 22 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Petaluma finds it reasonable to adopt the 23 Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program of the Enviroiunental Impact Report as it pertains 24 to non-disposal facilities so that Petaluma may encourage and host businesses such as buy-back 25 and drop-off centers; and 26 27 WHEREAS, it is the requirement of each responsible agency to adopt findings pursuant 28 to CEQA; and 29 30 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Petaluma does hereby acknowledge that in 31 complying with the state mandate known as AB939, the potential exists for significant impacts. 32 33 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Petaluma finds the following environmental 34 factors have been identified as having the potential for significant social, health and 35 environmental impacts: 36 37 1. Land Use 38 2. Water Quality 39 3. Public Safety 40 4. Transportation 41 5. Air Quality 42 6. Noise 43 7. Visual Resources 44 8. Public Services; and 45 1 94-214 Res. No .
