RE50LZJTION OF INTENTION TO VACATE
A PORTION OF CAITI,FIELD LANE AT LAKEVILLE STREET
WHEREAS, Shell Oil Company has requested the vacation of a portion of Caulfield
Lane at Lakeville Street; and,
WHEREAS, the request is a requirement of the Shell Oil Company, May 10, 1994,
Planning Commission approval; and,
WHEREAS, the vacation is located adjacent to and along the Shell Oil Company's
Caulfield Lane frontage as also shown on Exhibit "B" attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, at the January 3, 1995, 7:00 p.m. City Council meeting, or as soon
thereafter as the matter may be heard, a hearing shall be held for all interested persons
to discuss this vacation, and a Resolution to Vacate shall be passed; and,
WHEREAS, easements shall be reserved for all existing utilities which are not
scheduled for relocation; and,
WHEREAS, Payran Street and Lakeville Street right-of--way dedications shall be
granted to the City in exchange for this vacation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Petaluma
does hereby declare its intention to vacate and abandon and close to public use,
pursuant to and in accordance with the Streets and Highways Code, General Vacation
Procedure, Section 8320, a portion of Caulfield Lane, more particularl;~ described in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made part of.

REFERENCE: I hereby certify the foregoing Resolution was introduced and adopted by the Approved as to

STREET VACATION OF 11OLD CAULFIELD LANE1t
All that real property in the City of Petaluma, County of Sonoma,
State of California, being a portion of Lot 20, as numbered and
designated upon the map of "Suburban Homes" within the Petaluma
Rancho, recorded March 31, 1915 in Book 32 of Maps, page 18, Sonoma
- County Records, and also a portion of that certain 30.00 foot wide
roadway between Lot 34 and said Lot 20, as shown on said map, said
roadway commonly known as "Old Caulfield Lane"; said portions
combined being described as follows:
Commencing at the intersection of the Northerly line of the
Petaluma-Lakeville Highway as shown on said map with the
Southeasterly line of said "Old Caulfield Lane," from said Point of
Commencement the survey monument at the centerline intersection of
Lakeville Street and (new) Caulfield Lane bears South 3° 38' S3"
West 28.21 feet and North 86° 21' 07" West 93.80 feet; thence from
said Point of Commencement North 35° 44' 13" East along said
Southeasterly line of "Old Caulfield Lane" 38.46 feet to a point on
a non-tangent curve, concave Northerly, having a radius of 34.00
feet, a radial line to said point bears South 25° 18' 46" West;
said point being the True Point of Beginning; thence leaving said
Southeasterly line and Westerly along said curve, through a central
angle of 100° 26' 57", an arc length of 59.61 feet to a line
parallel with and distant 54.00 feet Southeasterly of the
centerline of (new) Caulfield Lane as shown on Parcel Map 222,
recorded in Book 419 of Parcel Maps at pages 23 through 26 records
of said County; thence along said parallel line North 35° 45' 43"
East 123.76 feet to a tangent curve, concave Southeasterly, having
a radius of 34.00 feet; thence Northeasterly along said curve
through a central angle of 76° 42' 30", an arc length of 45.52 feet
to a line parallel with and distant 27.02 feet Southwesterly of the
Northerly line Parcel One, as described in the Grant Deed to
Charles and Marjorie Slifer, et al., recorded April 1, 1982 as
Document No. 82017144 of Official. Records; thence along said last
mentioned parallel line., South 67° 31' 47" East 14.28 feet to said
Southeasterly line of "Old Caulfield Lane"; thence along said
Southeasterly line South 35° 44' 13" West 193.58 feet to the True
Point of Beginning.
The herein above described parcel is shown on a sketch title
EXHIBIT "B" attached hereto and by reference made a part hereof.
