HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 93-59 03/15/1993Resolution No. 93-59 N ~.s. 1 of the City of Petaluma, California 2 3 SiJPPORT F®R A PROJECTS LIST 4 FOR POTENTIAL FgJNDING I7NI)ER TIIE 5 FEDERAL ISTEA TRANSPORTATION ENIIANCEIVIENT ACTIVITIES 6 PROGRAlVI 7 FOR FISCAL YEARS 1994-1997 8 WITIIIN TIIE CITY OF PETALZTMA 9 10 11 BE IT RESOLVED BY TIIE COiJNCIL OF TIIE CITY OF PETALIJMA AS 12 FOLLOWS: 13 14 WIIEREAS, the City Council of the City of Petaluma finds that circulation and 15 transportation improvement projects are consistent with the Goals and Objective of the 16 City General Plan; and 17 18 WIIEREAS, the City Council of the City of Petaluma desires to maximize, to the 19 extent possible, the City's fair share of available funding under the Federal Intermodal 20 Surface Transportation Efficiency Act (ISTEA) program. 21 22 TIIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Petaluma that 23 support is given to the projects listed for potential funding under the Federal ISTEA 24 Transportation Enhancement Activities Program. 25 26 Bodega Avenue -North Webster Avenue to City Limits. 27 28 This project would widen Bodega Avenue to three lanes plus bike lanes and sidewalks 29 between North Webster Avenue and the City Limits near Bantam Lane. The widening 30 will significantly improve traffic safety on Bodega Avenue by removing the roadside 31 drainage ditches and providing adequate street width. 32 33 East Washington Street -Ely Boulevard to McDowell Boulevard 34 35 This project would construct abike/pedestrian path along Washington Creek between 36 Ely Boulevard and McDowell Boulevard. N.C.S. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 Petaluma Boulevard North -Shasta Avenue to Stony Point Road This project would construct apedestrian/bicycle pathways along Petaluma Boulevard North between Shasta Avenue and Stony Point Road a distance of two miles. The project will provide pedestrian/bicycle facilities where none exist. The project would be a joint City/County project. A key element of the project would be the construction of a pedestrian/bicycle bridge over the Petaluma River near Stony Point Road. ®alcs -Generally around River to Rainier Railroad Crossing Last remaining valley oak cluster on Petaluma River. The project will purchase extra buffer area and allow additional protection of existing trees and separation from future pedestrian trails. Consistent with River Committee direction. Undercrossing at US 101 -Willow Brook This project would develop an undercrossing of the US 101 Freeway at Willow Brook. The construction of this crossing of the US 101 Freeway will permit the development. of a coherent pedestrian/bicycle circulation plan. Undercrossing at US 101 -Lynch Creek This project would develop an undercrossing of the US 101 Freeway at Lynch Creek. The construction of this crossing of the US 101 Freeway will permit the development of a coherent pedestrian/bicycle circulation plan. Reso. 93-59 NCS F 1 2 fridge and Trail- Lynch Creek 3 4 This project would develop a trail system along Lynch Creek from the US 101 Freeway 5 to the Petaluma River. The construction of a bridge and trail system will permit the 6 development of a coherent pedestrian/bicycle circulation plan. 7 8 9 tea/sb/agenda/a:2 Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
