HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 93-74 04/06/1993Rf'SOIUfI®Y1 No. 93-74 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF FOUR (4) FLEXIBLE FUEL VEHICLES FROM THE OFFICE OF PROCUREMENT, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, REJECTING PRIOR BSS AlVI) AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF FUNI9ING AGREE117ENT WITH SONOMA COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY' 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 WHEREAS, the City Council has previously adopted the purchase of an alternative fuel vehicle as a goal in the 1992-93 budget; and WHEREAS, AB434 establishes a funding mechanism to provide local agencies with the ability to institute air pollution reduction programs; and WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma has been allocated $38,776 toward the purchase of flexible fuel vehicles; and WHEREAS, the State of California is offering these vehicles to be made available to local jurisdictions for a price of $8,929 each, including tax; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of four (4) flexible fuel vehicles from the State of California at a cost not to exceed $35,714.80 using funds allocated from AB434 vehicle surcharges; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the city hereby rejects all bids previously submitted for flexible vehicles since the lowest quote was $2,557 more per vehicle, grid that the Mayor or City Manager be authorized to sign the AB434 Fund Transfer Agreement with the Sonoma County Transportation Authority. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
