Balshaw at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Petaluma, on the 6th day of March • WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 8091 N.C S., a public hearing was called for •March 6 , 1978, at the hour of 7:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, Petaluma, California, to ascertain ) whether the public health, safety or welfare require the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated overhead structures and the tnderground installation of wires and facili- ties for supplying electric, communication or similar or asso- ciated service on the portion hereinafter more particularly described; and • WHEREAS, • such hearing has been duly and regularly held, and all persons interested have been given an opportunity to be heard, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Petaluma hereby finds and determines that the public necessity, • health, safety and welfare require the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated structures, and the underground installation of wires and facilities for supplying electric, communication or • similar or associated service on the portion more particularly • described as follows: • Beginning at a point on •the northerly border of East Washington Underground Utility 'District #2, as described in the resolution establishing the Washington Street Underground Utility District #2, approved by the City Counqil of Petaluma September 21, 1970, said point being 90 feet southeasterly of the centerline of Washington Street, said centerline shall have a bearing of North 36 Etst for the purposes of this description. Thence, continuing along the southerly border of the McDowell Blvd. Underground Utility District #1, being also the right --of- way line for U.S. 101 .Freeway, to its intersection with the southwesterly line of ,South McDowell Blvd., thence northwesterly along the.prologation �f the southwesterly line of South McDowell Blvd. to the most easterly corner of Parcel No. 1, as shown on the map filed in Boo_ 109 of Maps, ,. at Payee 15, Official Records, County of Sonoma. .Thence, southwesterly 883.68 feet along the southeasterly line of Parcel D. to the most southerly corner of Y .' said parcel. Thence, leaving the border the McDowell Blvd. o Underground Utility District #1, and continuing along the last named line 925 feet; thence, northwesterly perpendicular to the last named, line 60 Feet thence, southwesterly perpendicular to the last named line and parallel to and 120 feet northerly of the centerline of East Washington Street to a point on the most northerly line of Ellis Street, and thence, southeasterly along the most northerly line of Ellis Street 30 feet, to a point on a line lying 90 feet northwesterly of and parallel to the centerline of East Washington Street. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council finds that the underground utility district herein created is in the general public interest in that streets, roads or rights - - way in the district are extensively used by the general public and carry a heavy volume of pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
