Streets, sidewalks, sewer, water, and storm drain have been completed; the bike path has been completed, and the fence along McDowell is well under way. Virtually the final remaining step to be done is the landscaping along • the bike path along McDowell Boulevard. The project received site design review in conjunction with the P.U.D. rezoning in the summer of 1976. At that time, the Committee discussed the landscape requirements, and stipulated that the final landscape design • incorporate drought -resistent material, and no irrigation system be installed. • Our landscape contractor, as well as the staff of the City, feels that an "interim" type irrigation system, designed to insure a good start to the plantings, would be a desirable feature. We have submitted a possible irrigation system to the staff, with the offer to install the irrigation if the City would handle the water connection fees. The system installed would amount to $3500, and the two .connections would amount to about $3300. We have been advised that such a decision could be made only by. the Council. • Would you, therefore, wish to accept this offer? We would appreciate an answer as soon as possible, as we are defefing installation of the plants pending a final decision. • You , ruly, IIPP „ de on D. Josly EXHA.:1T-
