HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2023-009 N.C.S. 01/09/2023 DocuSign Envelope ID: FE316904-78BF-4747-9539-242F9331DD7D Resolution No. 2023-009 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California APPROVING CITY COUNCIL LIAISON APPOINTMENTS FOR 2023 WHEREAS, the process for Council appointments is outlined in the City Council Rules, Policies, and Procedures; and WHEREAS, in accordance with section VII(G), the Mayor notified the Councilmembers and/or Councilmembers-elect by December 1, 2022, of all upcoming openings for Council representation on City, County, regional and other outside commissions; and WHEREAS, Councilmembers and/or Councilmembers-elect notified the Mayor of those positions they would be interested in serving on for the upcoming calendar year; and WHEREAS, the Mayor provided their recommendations as to the appointments; and WHEREAS, the Council considered the Mayor's recommendations at their regular meeting of January 9, 2023. NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,that the City Council of the City of Petaluma hereby: 1. Appoints the liaisons as listed in the attached Exhibit A to this resolution for calendar year 2023. 2. Finds that the proposed action is exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act(CEQA)in accordance with CEQA Guidelines Section 15378,in that adopting a resolution approving City Council liaison appointments does not meet CEQA's definition of a "project," because the action does not have the potential for resulting either a direct physical change in the environment or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment, and because this is a personnel-related action that constitutes organizational or administrative activities of governments that will not result in direct or indirect physical changes in the environment. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
