RESOLUTION
ESTABLISHING TRANSIT ADVISORY COIVIMITTEE
WHEREAS, the City Council and staff wish to assure review of critical issues related to
the City's transit operations and the regional bus and rail operations within the City of Petaluma
by interested and knowledgeable members of the Petaluma community; and,
WHEREAS, such review will be facilitated by the formation of a Transit Advisory
Committee, serving as an advisory body to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that:
1. The City Council of the City of Petaluma does hereby establish a Transit Advisory
Committee to be appointed by and serving at the pleasure of the City Council, and
directs staff to seek letters of interest for appointment to said Committee.
2. The Transit Advisory Committee shall consist of seven members from the community
at large, appointed by the City Council to serve two-year overlapping terms
terminating on June 30t1', or until a successor is appointed.
3. The first three appointments shall be for a term of one year and until the following
June 30th, and thereafter, for two-year terms. The terms of the other four members
shall be for two years and until the following June 30th from the initial appointment.
4. The City's Transit Manager shall serve as staff representative and advise the Transit
Advisory Committee, as needed, in the performance of its duties.
5. The Mayor will appoint one non-voting member from City Council, to serve in an
advisory capacity for two years, at which time, Council will evaluate the .necessity for
the appointment's continuation.

6. Transit Advisory Committee shall meet in regular session and organize by electing
from members of the committee, a chairman and secretary, who would hold office for
a term of one year. Thereafter, the committee shall meet in regular session once a
month at a time and place selected by vote of its members. The committee shall have
the right and duty to adopt such rules and regulations as it determines appropriate for
the conduct of its meetings and the selection of its officers, and for the performance
of its functions and responsibilities.
7. The committee shall not have the right to employ any person or incur any expense or
obligation against the City without prior approval from the City Council.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
