Summary: . Ln March 1978, the City ceased filling vacant General Fund positions,
due to Propositions #13 , ; Pf, the seven po,s i t ions- that ..r,ema i ned unfilled on
June 30th, two were in ,ihe`Profession,al category; one was in the Technical
category; two were in 'the Clerical category, and two.were in the Maintenance
category. (:These; po-s'ti`ons have been officially deleted by Budget action
effective 7-1--78,)
V Goals and T'i'metables for FY 78-79
For Fiscal 'Year, 1978-79, under Propos i tion '#13,, there is a projected loss
of ten' General, Fund, positions. . The basic Af f',i rma t'i ve Action Goal will be
to maintain a m1nor.ity representation within the City workforce equal to
h the City at large..,.
If vacancies occur in positions which a,re`not listed under the Proposition
#13 drawdown, efforts should be made to transfer existing employees into

those vacanc_r,es,. If quayillfied personnel, are,, not available within.'the current
City workforce,, the following goals shou'ld.'be used as a guide.
