5 RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO
6 THE GENERAL PLAN LAND USE MAP BY RECLASSIFYING
7 A 2.11 ACRE AREA OF LAND FROM URBAN STANDARD TO
8 URBAN DIVERSIFIED FOR THE PROJECT KNOWN AS THE
9 KINGSFIELD SUBDIVISION LOCATED AT
10 729 AND 731 N. WEBSTER STREET,
11 APNs 006-441-23, 24 & 006-371-20

14 WHEREAS, the City received an application to amend the General Plan Land Use Map to
15 reclassify a 2.11 acre area of land from Urban Standard to Urban Diversified for the
16 project known as the Kingsfield Subdivision located at 729 and 731 N. Webster Street,
17 APNs 006-441-23, 24 & 006-371-20; and

19 WHEREAS, this amendment has been adopted following the City Council's adoption of a
20 Mitigated Negative Declaration for subsequent development of the lands affected as set
21 forth in Resolution 93-202NCand
22
23 WHEREAS, the Petaluma Planning Commission held a noticed public hearing on this
24 amendment on June 22, 1993, and considered all written and verbal communications on
25 this matter before rendering their recommendation for approval to the City Council; and
26
27 WHEREAS, all reports and communications to the Planning Commission were forwarded
28 to the City Council; and

30 WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on this amendment and considered all
31 written and verbal communication before rendering its decision;

33 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Petaluma City Council hereby
34 approves the above referenced General Plan Land Use amendment subject to the
35 following findings:

39 1. The proposed amendment is deemed to be in the public interest.

2 2. The proposed General Plan Amendment is consistent and compatible with the rest
3 of the General Plan and any implementation programs that may be affected.

5 3. The project is consistent with and further promotes the objectives, goals, and
6 policies of the General Plan by promoting architectural and socioeconomic diversity
7 within residential areas, establishing a realistic ratio between East Side and West
8 Side growth, and provides a housing opportunity for persons of all economic levels.

4. The potential impacts of the proposed amendment have been assessed and have
been determined not to be detrimental to the public health, safety, or welfare.
5. The proposed amendment has been processed in accordance with the applicable
provisions of the California Government Code and the California Environmental
Quality Act (CEQA).
