HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 93-212 08/02/1993ReSO~l,ltl®11 N®. 93-212 N.~.S. cif lht~ City cif I'~~t~~lun~~ir~, C~alifor~~i~a RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE CALIFORNIA PARKS AND WILDLIFE INITIATIVE (CALPAW '94) WHEREAS, the Planning and Conservation League has developed a ballot initiative called "The California Parks and Wildlife Initiative" or "CaIPAW '94" to provide bond funding for a variety of open space acquisition, park development, and habitat restoration projects; and WHEREAS, Ca1PAW '94 contains at least $4 million for acquisition, trail development, and habitat restoration along the Petaluma River and its marshes; and WHEREAS, one million dollars of CaIPAW '94 is identified for such projects within the City of Petaluma; and WHEREAS, these funds would help our community realize its vision by implementing a portion of the Petaluma River Access and Enhancement Plan and the Enhancement Plan for the Petaluma Marsh. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council supports Ca1PAW '94 and urges Petaluma area voters to offer their signatures to help qualify this bond measure for the June 1994 California ballot. calpawl/council-10 Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
