EXAMPLE OF DUTIES' Performa variety of duties - such as, taking non -investigative field reports; receiving counter reports; follow-up for officers and investigators; reporting 'and taking reports of 'abandoned vehicles, and other parking enforcement viola- tions as necessary; veKkle abatements; selected enforcement of building code �vi'olati.ons selected enforcement of sign ordinance violations; assisting in crowd control; traffic control; assisting in subpoena service; fingerprinting non -criminal applicants; transporting non-combative.prisoners; transporting evidence to court and crime lab; logging and storage of evidence and property; returning property to owners.; transporting police vehicles for repair, main- tenance and service; p,rocessin:g.lost and found -property, observing and report- i.ng criminal and non -criminal hazards; court ordered destruction of illegal weapons, drugs and miscellaneous- items; crime prevention (home and business security. inspections);.prombtin.g bicycle safety; environmental_ impact reports; developing and printing film .(black and white) for court, insurance and de- partment purposes; speci'aI,.ass ignm.ents, i_e., radar speed studies, etc.; clerk.relief in main.office4; s,ett•ing up and holding police auctions; and perform other duties as d.i'rected which do not necessitate the services of a sworn officer. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Any -combination equivalent to-,grad.uation from high school and a valid California drivers license. KNOWLEDGE OF Vehicle safety, report wr fti`ng, human relations; and basic statistical evaluation. ABILITY TO Think clearly and logically; speak.and write -cl.ea'rly; understand and carry out oral and written.directions; use courtesy, tact a:nd firmness when needed; read and understand department po,licies,. instructions, laws -and regulations; physical agility; and aptitude for law enforcement work...
