Pursuant to. the authority granted by Resolution No. 8472 N.C.S. for the conduct of the regular municipal election ordered to be held June 12, 1979, the City of Petaluma i`s hereby di,vIded into twenty=si,x (2'6), municipal election precincts., each of which shal'1 consist of one precinct or a consolidation of more than one of the precinct's.,,'as last theretofore established within said City by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Sonoma for holding general state and county elections. Reference is.h.ereby made to said precincts by number as the same were numbered in the orders, or resolutions of the Board. of Supervisors of the County of Sonomalast thereto establishing election precincts within the City for holding gener- al state and county elections. Said municipal e1„ection precincts, the polling place or places therein, and the ele'ct'ion o-fficers appointed to conduct said election there- in are hereby fixed, established and appo'inted'as set forth in this resolution. Section 2 There shall be twenty-six (26) voting precincts for the purpose of holding said election, consisting of either the regular election precincts estab- lished of record by orders or resolutions of the Board of Supervisors of Sonoma County last theretofore es.tab,l.ishi'ng precincts within the City of Petaluma for holding general state and county elections'now on file in the Office of the County Clerk of said County, or a consolidation of some or all of such precincts_ as set forth in the attached Ex- hibit A, incorporated herein by reference, and numbered as Petaluma Special Precincts as shown thereon. - The polling places selected for the various consolidated precincts and the officers hereby appointed_to serve as election officers in said consolidated precincts are hereby determined and designated to be the same as stated upon said Exhibit A and are Jncorporated herein by reference. The County Clerk is hereby authorized to appoint persons to fill vacancies oct-urrin.g.from and after the date of this resolution. under the .power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of'said, City.
