of the City of Petaluma, California
APPROVING THE PROJECT BUDGET AND AUTHORIZING THE AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR
THE PETALUMA COMMUNITY CENTER ROOF GUTTER REPLACEMENT AND
MODIFICATION,AND STOREFRONT WINDOW REPLACEMENT PROJECT C16201304
WHEREAS, City staff has prepared construction bid documents and advertised for construction of this
Project; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the City of Petaluma Charter and Municipal Code, California Public
Contract Code Section 20162, and other applicable laws, City staff solicited bids for the Project; and
WHEREAS, the project was bid on April 28, 2023, and one (1) bid was received and opened in accordance
with applicable law; and
WHEREAS,the lowest bid for the Project was from SFT Construction Corp. for$650,000; and
WHEREAS, staff has determined that SFT Construction Corp.'s bid satisfies the bidding requirements for
the Project; and
WHEREAS,staff has verified that SFT Construction Corp.possesses a valid California Contractor's License,
Class B, number 1009086 that qualifies SFT Construction Corp. to perform the Project; and
WHEREAS, the Project is categorically exempt pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act
("CEQA") pursuant to Article 19, Section 15301(c), of Title 14 of the California Code of Regulations ("CEQA
Guidelines") pursuant to California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") and Title 14, the California Code of
Regulations ("CEDQA Guidelines"), Section 15300.2.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council of the City of Petaluma as follows:
1. Approves the FY 23/24 Project Budget in the amount of$795,000.
2. In accordance with the City of Petaluma Charter and Municipal Code,California Public Contract Code Section
20162, and other applicable laws, waives any and all non-conformance in the bid of SFT Construction Corp.
for the Petaluma Community Center Roof Gutter Replacement and Modification, and Storefront Window
Replacement Project C16201304 Project finds the bid of$650,000 to be the lowest,responsive bid and further
finds that SFT Construction Corp. is the lowest responsible bidder.
3. Awards the contract for the Petaluma Community Center Roof Gutter Replacement and Modification, and
Storefront Window Replacement Project C16201304 Project to SFT Construction Corp., in the amount of
$650,000,the amount of the lowest responsive bid,conditioned on SFT Construction Corp.'s timely executing
the project contract and submitting all required documents, including but not limited to, executed bonds,
certificates of insurance, and endorsements, in accordance with the project bid documents.
4. Directs staff to issue a notice of award to SFT Construction Corp.

5. Authorizes and directs the City Manager to execute the project contract on behalf of the City of Petaluma
upon timely submission by SIFT Construction Corp. of the signed project contract and all other required
documents, including but not limited to, executed bonds, certificates of insurance, and endorsements, in
accordance with the project bid documents.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
