RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA APPROVING CITY
COUNCIL LIAISON APPOINTMENTS FOR 2024
WHEREAS, the process for Council appointments is outlined in the City Council Rules, Policies, and
Procedures; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with section VII(G), the Mayor notified the Councilmembers and/or
Councilmembers-elect by December 1, 2023, of all upcoming openings for Council representation on City,
County, regional and other outside commissions; and
WHEREAS, Councilmembers and/or Councilmembers-elect notified the Mayor of those positions they
would be interested in serving on for the upcoming calendar year; and
WHEREAS,the Mayor provided their recommendations as to the appointments; and
WHEREAS, the Council considered the Mayor's recommendations at their regular meeting of January 8,
2024.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,that the City Council of the City of Petaluma hereby:
1. Appoints the liaisons as listed in the attached Exhibit A to this resolution for calendar year 2024.
2. Finds that the proposed action is exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality
Act(CEQA)in accordance with CEQA Guidelines Section 15378,in that adopting a resolution approving
City Council liaison appointments does not meet CEQA's definition of a "project," because the action
does not have the potential for resulting either a direct physical change in the environment or a reasonably
foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment, and because this is a personnel-related action
that constitutes organizational or administrative activities of governments that will not result in direct or
indirect physical changes in the environment.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
REFERENCE: I hereby certify the foregoing Resolution was introduced and adopted by the Approved as to
Council of the City of Petaluma at a Regular meeting on the Bch day of January Docusigned Sarm:
