RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CONTINUED USE OF THE NATIONAL GUARD
ARMORY AS ACOLD-WEATHER FACILITY FOR HOMELESS ADULTS FOR
FY 1992-93
WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma and the California National Guard have
cooperated in the use of the Petaluma National Guard Armory as acold-weather shelter
for homeless adults since FY 1987-88; and
WHEREAS, the State of California has presented the City of Petaluma with the
option of accepting a cash payment in an amount equal to the cost of operating the
Armory (estimated at $22,500) in lieu of the use of the Armory for FY 1992-93; and
WHEREAS, an intensive search to locate other available, appropriate
alternative facilities to house the cold-weather homeless program has been unsuccessful;
NOW, THEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED that the City of Petaluma will
continue to utilize the California National Guard Armory as a shelter during the
designated times and under the conditions set forth by the State of California.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
