HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 92-267 10/05/1992a- Resolution No. 92-267 N C.~. of the City of Petaluma, California A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA APPROVING BUS ROUTE CHANGES, ADDITION OF THREE TRANSFER POINTS, AND A REDUCTION IN SATURDAY SERVICE WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma currently has contracted to DAVE (Dial-A-Vehicle), a seven-bus fixed-route transit system. that operates Monday through Saturday; and WHEREAS, DAVE proposes that changes relating to the bus routes, addition of three transfer points, and suspension of Saturday service be made to Petaluma Transit to improve its. efficiency and effectiveness; and WHEREAS, the project was found to be exempt from CEQA Guidelines, an exemption notice posted 9/11/92, and adoption of an exemption was recommended; and WHEREAS, a hearing was held 21 September 1992 by the Planning Commission to consider the CEQA exemption and the proposed changes; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of both the CEQA exemption and the proposed changes; and WHEREAS, a hearing was held on 5 October 1992 before the City Council at which time information was heard and considered by the Council; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows, that it is found, ordered and declared that the following changes be made to Petaluma Transit Routes: 1. TRANSFER POINTS -Maintaining the transfer point at the Library at East Washington Street and Fairgrounds Drive, while adding three additional transfer points: (1) 4th and C Streets; (2) Plaza. Shopping Center; and (3) Washington Square Shopping Center. 2. REDUCE SATURDAY SERVICE 3. ROUTE #1 -CHERRY VALLEY/SOUTH MCDOWELL -This proposed route would be a combination of the existing Route #1 (Cherry Valley), and Route #3 (South McDowell). 1 Res. No......J.~-.2.`.7....... N.C.S. 4. ROUTE #2 - WESTRIDGE/NORTI-I MCDOWELL -This proposed route would be a combination of the existing Route #2 (Westridge) and Route #4 (North McDowell). 5.
