ADOPTING STATE OF CALIFORNIA
CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE
AND
ESTABLISI~ING FILING CRITERIA FOR DESIGNATED EIVIPLOI'EES
AND REPEALING RESOLUTION 84-6 NCS
WHEREAS, the State of California has adopted California Code of Regulations, Title
2, Division 6, Section 18730 -Provisions for Conflict of Interest Code;
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 87300 allows local municipalities to adopt the
State Conflict of Interest Code, as amended from time to time, by reference:
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Petaluma
as follows:
1. The City of Petaluma hereby adopts the State of California Conflict of Interest Code.
2. The attached list of designated employment and volunteer positions within the City of
Petaluma are hereby required to complete a Conflict of Interest Form as formulated by the
State of California.
3. The attached list of conflict of interest reporting categories for designated employment
and volunteers is hereby adopted.
4. Resolution 84-6 NCS is hereby repealed.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.

CITY OF PETALUMA
The :Political Reform Act, Government Code Section 81000, et seq. , requires state and
local government agencies to adopt and promulgate conflict of interest codes. The Fair
Political Practices Commission has adopted a regulation, 2 Cal: Code of Regs. Section 18730,.
which contains the terms of a standard conflict of interest code. It can be incorporated by
reference and may be amended ,by the Fair Political Practices Commission after public, notice
and .hearings to conform to amendments in the Political Reform Act. Therefore, the terms of
2 Cal. Code of Regs. Section .18730 and any amendments to it duly adopted by the Fair
Political Practices Commission are hereby incorporated. by reference and, along with the
attached Appendix in which members and employees are designated and disclosure categories
are set forth, constitute the conflict of interest. code of the City of Petaluma.
Pursuant to Section 4(A) of the standard code, designated employees shall file
statements of economic interests with the agency. Upon receipt: of the statements of the City
of Petaluma City Manager, City Attorney, Finance Director, Mayor, City Council, and
Planning Commission, the agency shall make and retain a copy and forward the original of
these statements to the Fair Political Practices Commission in Sacramento. Statements for all
other designated employees and appointees shall be retained by the agency.
