24 Wendi Thomas, Petaluma Coalition to Prevent Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs, asked Council
25 to review the current Alcohol - Related Nuisance Ordinance (ARNO), and spoke about efforts to
26 reinstate an alcohol - control enforcement (ACE) officer in Petaluma, and asked the City to
27 conduct an ARNO fee study to determine how to best generate sustainable funding for the
28 officer. She also asked Council to review conditional use permits for new alcohol - related
29 businesses.

31 Bob Curry, Petaluma, spoke about updates that neighboring communities have made to their
32 tobacco - control ordinances and asked Council to update the Petaluma ordinance to include
33 regulations for smoking in outdoor areas such as at outdoor public events, bus stops, and
34 outdoor - dining areas of restaurants, and to increase protection for residents in multi -unit housing.

36 Pam Granger, American Lung Association, asked that Council take action to update the
37 tobacco- control ordinance and regulations that protect citizens from drifting secondhand
38 smoke.

40 Chris McCarthy, North River Landing, Petaluma, spoke regarding the North River Landing
41 development and said that public infrastructure improvements are what is now holding up the
42 project.

1 Daniel Lyke, Petaluma, member of the Technology and Telecommunications Advisory
2 Committee, said the committee is feeling "lost and directionless" because the City shows no
3 interest in implementing any of their ideas. He asked how the committee could be more helpful
4 to the City.

6 Karen Nau, Petaluma, said she was pleased that Council is considering review of the Alcohol -
7 Related Nuisance Ordinance (ARNO), and asked them to please do this sooner rather than
8 later. She encouraged them to move forward with the infrastructure improvements needed for
9 the North River Landing project. When a new Economic Development Director is on board, she
10 hopes that person will make sure that "small developers" don't fall through the cracks. She also
11 suggested a partnership with the school district for maintenance of "pocket parks" located next
12 to schools.

14 Diane Allen, Petaluma, said she is still waiting for approval of her small subdivision project, and
15 doesn't know where she is on the list. She submitted the project in 2006.
