11 Public Comment on Presentation
12
13 Rick Brown, Petaluma, President, Terra Verde Renewable Partners, said his company is a
14 developer of solar energy facilities for governments, school districts, non - profits and
15 commercial real estate owners. They are very much in support of any policy that will
16 promote diversification of electricity using alternative or renewable sources.
17
18 Peter Tscherneff, Petaluma, told Council that competition is a good thing. He suggested
19 using wind power. He also said that PG &E employees have been told not to talk about their
20 rates or about SMART meters.
21
22 Zen Destiny, Petaluma, told Council, You can't grow an economy on an energy tax." He
23 also spoke about petroleum, climate change, and carbon dioxide.
24
25 PUBLIC COMMENT
26
27 Carole Huygen, Petaluma, spoke regarding the City "condoning" illegal fireworks on the Fourth
28 of July and New Year's Eve.
29
30 Doug Millar, Private Investigator, Petaluma, spoke about Chris Smith's article regarding
31 Bohemian Grove. He said he was trying to warn people about what's really happening at the
32 Grove.
33
34 Jeff Mayne, Petaluma, spoke regarding the Art & Garden Festival, and the Petaluma Boulevard
35 South Road Diet.
36
37 Mayor Glass
38
39 Nancee Tavares, Former Animal Services Manager, Petaluma, thanked Council for their
40 continued to support of the Animal Shelter. The wave of the future may be that we turn to non -
41 profits to run their shelters, but she is thankful that for now Petaluma's Animal Shelter will remain
42 under City management. She said the project the City had received to contract out the
43 management of the shelter to a non - profit would not have been good "for the City, the animals,
44 or the community." The proposal called for several current long -term employees to be demoted
45 to "cleaning kennels and cages." This would be a waste of their experience and skills.
46
47 Zen Destiny, Petaluma, said he wanted to be allowed to speak regarding proclamations and
48 presentations. He also said, The SMART train was born with a lobotomy." He suggested that the
49 train be run on or under the Golden Gate Bridge, and also that the two alleys in downtown
50 Petaluma that have graffiti problems be turned into student murals with competitions for best
51 artwork.

1 Mayor Glass
2
3 Richard Brawn, Petaluma, said to Council, By now you know how the Pied Piper operates. He
4 encourages Councils to rob from the future to pay for the present. You've been negotiating with
5 him regarding how many children he can take."
6
7 Katherine Bobrowski, Petaluma, spoke about her recent fall near the Petaluma Marina, and
8 about illegal activities in her mobile home park.
