RATIFYING SIX-MONTH EXTENSION
TO FIXED ROUTE CONTRACT WITH MV TRANSPORTATION, INC.
WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma wishes to provide uninterrupted fixed-route service to
residents of the City; and,
WHEREAS, on June 30, 2006, the City's agreement with MV Transportation, Inc.
expired; and,
WHEREAS, due to problems plaguing the City's transit system, staff determined that the
prudent course of action would be to delay award of a new contract until certain issues could be
resolved; and,
WHEREAS, in order to maintain uninterrupted service, City Manager approved
Amendment No. 2, giving asix-month extension to MV Transportation's agreement with the
City, and directed staff to bring the amendment to Council for ratification.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Petaluma does hereby ratify Amendment No. 2 to the MV Transportation, Inc. agreement of
November 16, 2000; which increases compensation to $37.35 per hour; and extends the terms,
commencing on July 1, 2006 and ending on December 31, 2006. Except as specifically provided
in Amendment No. 2, the terms of the professional services agreement, as entered into on
November 16, 2000, shall remain in full force and effect.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
