HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2006-126 N.C.S. 07/17/2006 Resolution No. 2006-.126 N.C.S. . of the City of Petaluma, California AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF FOUR HEAVY- DUTY LOW-FLOOR FIXED-ROUTE BUSES WITH OPTIONS FROIVI GILLIG CORPORATION WHEREAS, staff has identified a need for new fixed-route buses as a step toward rehabilitating the City's bus service; and, WHEREAS, the funding for the new buses is available from the Transportation Development Act, Measure M Funding, and the transit operating budget; and, WHEREAS, an option was located to purchase low-floor buses through a procurement already underway for the City of Colorado Springs, CO, where the Gillig Corporation of Hayward, CA was the successful bidder; and, WHEREAS, after reviewing the quote from Gillig Corporation, staff recommends that the Council authorize the purchase of four fixed-route transit bus, with an option for the City to purchase an additional two to five buses within two years, at bus price adjustment in accordance with the Producer Price Index (PPI) 1413 WPU. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to proceed with the purchase of four 35-foot low-floor buses, with options, from Gillig Corporation in the amount of $1,381,221.39. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
