RESOLUTION CALLING AND PROVIDING, ,FOR, A REGULAR MUNICIPAL
ELECTION TO BE ':HELD IN THE CITY OF PETALUMA, INCLUDING
THE PETALUMA HhGH "SCHOOL DISTRICT, JUNE 10, 19'.75, ,FOR
THE PUAPOSE,OF"ELECTING 'PUBLIC OFFICERS; DESIGNATING THE
PRECINCTS AND POLLING PLACES FOR`SAID ELECTION; APPOINT-
ING ELECTION OFFICERS AND PROVIDING FOR NOTICE THEREOF

Regular Meeting of.the City Council of the City of Petaluma on the
5th day of May, 1.9.75. ,
'BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA, as follows:
Section 1. That the regular municipal election in and for the
City of Petaluma shall be held Tuesday, June .1.0, 1975, for the.object
and purpose of electing the following .public officers for said City of
Petaluma as provided in -its. Charter, to wit:
Three .(3) Councilmen for the full term of four (4) years;
2) School ,Directors as members of the Board of
Education for a term of four (4)..ye6rs.
Section 2.. Said -regular municipal election hereby called shall
be held and conducted,, and -the. votes thereat received' and canvassed
and the returns :thereo;f made :and the .results thereof ascertained and
determined as provided in this resolution. Except 'as 'herein p.r.ovided,
said .election shall be held and conducted in 'a'c'cordance with the '.Char-
ter of the .City. of Petaluma and the .general ele-cti-on laws incorporated
herein and made a part hereof. The p:r:ovis:ons of Division XII, Part
2, Chapter 2, of the Elections Code governing election in Fifth and
Sixth.'Class cities: are hereby incorporated herein and by reference
made .a part hereof, except as herein otherwise provided.
Section' 3. All persons qualified to vote at municipal elections
in said City of Petaluma at said regular municipal election shall be
qualified to' votefor -all of the candidates arid. all of the officers
hereinabove set -forth,. and also upon any measure or measures which
may be submitted at said regular municipal election, provided that no
person shall be'eriti.tled to vote for any candidate for the Office of
School Director who is not also a qualified elector of the Petaluma
Schdol Districts.. Any qualified elector in the 'City. of Petaluma
shall be entitled to: vote'at'said regular election only for candidates
for the .office.of School Director, and the City Clerk is hereby author-
ized and directed to provide appropriate ballots containing the' names
of th'e candidate's for School Directors for. use:in .territory outside

annexed to Petaluma ;School District's" for s'choo'l purposes: 'only, and
is within the territorial .limits of the ;Petaluma School Districts.
Section '4. The. polls at the '-polling, place's hereinafter desig-
nated shall be kept 'operi continuously ther'eafte'r until 8 p.m. (P.DST
)
of said day of election, when the po`lls,shal"l be closed (except as
provided in Section 14:436 of the Elections Code), and the elections
officers shall. thereupon proceed to canvass theballots cast thereat.
Section: 5. For theconduct of said re.guhar municipal election,
the City of Petaluma is hereby divided into fifty .(50) municipal elec-
tion precincts, each of which shall consist of one precinct or a
consolidation of more than one of the precincts, as last theretofore
established within said City. by the Board of Supervisors of .the
County. of Sonoma for holding .gen:er.al State and County elections. Re-
ference is hereby made to.said precincts by number as the same were
numbered in the orders `or .resolutions'af the Board of Supervisors of
the Count of Sonoma last ':thereto establish

Appropriate space shall be provided on said ballot for any ad-
ditional measures submitted at said regular election. The City Clerk
shall mail sample ballots, together with.cards stating the Location
of the precinct po'llin'g place of each voter entitled to vote :at said
election at the 'time 'and in the manner provided by Elections Code,
Seetion'.10012.

Section 8. The City, Clerk 'is hereby. directed to cause. a

daily newspaper of general circulation, published in the City of
Petaluma and'the, official newspaper of said City, as required by
law not earlier than the!sev'enty-fifth 'nor later than the fifty-
