RESOLUTION SUPPORTING 1974 STATE .CLEAN- WATER BOND ISSUE!
INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMAN - --
A Regular Meeting of
the City Council, of the City of Petaluma on the 18th day of March 1974
WHEREAS, the State of California now grants to local agencies .
u to 'twelve `and one half' percent
, p � of the cost of construction of water
quality management ,(sewerage and , reclamation) facilities;' and
WHEREAS, such `grants, in .conjunction with 'federal grants, ,greatly
expedite p financing the .local, share of proj`ec:t costs; ° and
WHEREAS funds for these grants will be exhausted by late* 1974;
and
WIiEREAS,:•Ass °embly Bill 161 (McCarth San Francisco) which was
passed unanimously. by both the Assembly and Senate and signed by Governor
Reagan' on' October 2, 1973, authorizes presentation of a' $250 million bond
issue before the voters; and
WHEREAS,. the Clean Water Bond Issue will be on . the June, 1974
primary °ballot ;; and
WHEREAS,; it, is the responsibility of the Bay-Area Sewage Ser-
vices Agency to assure construction of necessary•sevierage facilities
in the, San. Francisco B'ay.Area.,
• NOW,. THEREFORE, `BE IT' RESOLVED .that, the .Council, of the City of
Petaluma hereby-finds that= 'the. +$'250 million Clean -Water Bond Inssue merits
