1 RESOLUTION CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING TO DETERMINE
' WHETHER PUBLIC NECESSITY, HEALTH, SAFETY OR WEL-
FARE REQUIRE.THE FORMATION OF AN UNDERGROUND UTIL-
'ITY DISTRICT AS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE
• BODY OF THIS RESOLUTION

the City Council of the City of Petaluma on the. 15th day cif April 19 7 4

• .WHEREAS, No. 893 N.C.S., Chapter 14.36 of the Petaluma
Municipal Code establishes a procedure for the creation of. underground
utility districts and requires as the initial step in such.procedure
the holding of a public•hearing to ascertain whether public necessity,
health, safety or welfare require the removal of• poles, overhead wires
and associated overhead structures and the underground installation
of wires and facilities for supplying electric, communication or
similar or associated service in any such district; and
WHEREAS, it has been recommended that such an underground utility
district, hereinafter called District, be formed on that portion de-
scribed as follows:
DESCRIPTION FOR - "Q" STREET UNDERGROUND.UT•ILITY DISTRICT NO.1
Beginning at.intersection of the centerlines of "C" and
Fourth Streets; thence in a northwesterly direction along
the centerline of "C ". Street,, 90.0 feet; thence in a north-
easterly direction. 303.5 feet to the north east side of
Petaluma Boulevard; thence in a southeasterly direction along
the northeast si'de Petaluma Boulevard 374.2 feet; thence
in a southwesterly direction 170.25 feet; thence in a north-
westerly direction•49.7 feet; thence in a southwesterly j
direction 100.25 feet to the northeast side of Fourth Street;
thence in. a northwesterly direction, along the northeast side
of Fourth Street.14,4..5 feet; thence in a southwesterly direc-
tion. 33.0 feet to.the centerline of "C" Street; thence in a
northwesterly direction, along the centerline of "C" Street,
90.0. feet to the point of beginning.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by
the Council of the City of Petaluma on May 6, 1974, at the hour of 1

fornia, to ascertain whether-- the,..public'necess.ty, ; health, safety

2. At such hearing, all persons interested be given an
opportunity to be heard. 'Said hearing may be- „con.tinued'ftbm time •
to time as may be determined by 'the City,Counil.,
.3. The City Clerk.shall notify all affected ;property owners
as shown on the last equalized assessment roll and utilities con-
cerned of the time and place of such hearing,by mailing a,copy of
this resolution to .such property owners and utilities- concerned at
least ten (10) days prior to the date thereof.:
4. The area proposed be included in the District is shown
upon that certain map. entitled "C STREET UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT
NO. 1” dated April 15 , 1974, which is on file in the office
of the City Clerk.of the City of Petaluma.
