HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2006-096 N.C.S. 06/05/2006 Resolution No. 2006-096 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN BY ABOLISHING THE CLASSIFICATIONS OF ASSOCIATE IN CIVIL ENGINEERING, BUILDING MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR, DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING, EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR, EQUIPMENT SERVICE WORKER, PARKS AND BUILDING MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR, PLANNING DIRECTOR, PLANNING MANAGER, PLANNING TECHNICIAN, PLANS EXAMINER/SENIOR PLANNING TECHNICIAN, PROGRAM COORDINATOR, PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCH SUPERVISOR, PUBLIC SAFETY LEAD DISPATCHER, PUBLIC SAFETY TRAINING AND GRANTS ANALYST, SENIOR POLICE RECORDS ASSISTANT, SECRETARY TO THE CITY MANGER, STREET MAINTENANCE LEAD WORKER, SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, SUPERVISING CIVIL ENGINEER, TRAFFIC ENGINEER, UTILITY ENGINEER, VOLUNTEER/EDUCATION COORDINATOR WHEREAS, the City wishes to keep current its Classification and Compensation Plan; and amendments and or revisions to the Classification and Compensation Plan are effective upon approval by the City Council; and, WHEREAS, the City Manager/ Personnel Officer have determined that the Associate in Civil Engineering, Building Maintenance Supervisor, Director of Engineering, Equipment Maintenance Supervisor, Equipment Service Worker, Parks and Building Maintenance Supervisor, Parks Maintenance Supervisor, Planning Director, Planning Manager, Planning Technician, Plans Examiner/Senior Planning Technician, Program Coordinator, Public Safety Dispatch Supervisor, Public Safety Lead Dispatcher, Public Safety Training and Grants Analyst, Senior Police Records Assistant, Secretary to the City Manager, Street Maintenance Lead Worker, Superintendent of Public Works, Supervising Civil Engineer, Traffic Engineer, Utility Engineer, Volunteer/Education Coordinator classifications are no longer used; and, WHEREAS, the classifications as listed above, is hereby recommended to be abolished, effective with the adoption of this Resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby approve the amendments to the Classification and Compensation Plan as written in this Resolution including the amendment in the Competitive Service of the Personnel System; and, Resolution No. 2006-096 N.C.S. Page 1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this action is taken pursuant to Personnel Code 3.04.020 and Personnel Rules and Regulations (Rule IV- Classification and Rule V - Compensation) and, that the notice of this action has been properly posted. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
