Local 956, and WHEREAS, the City through its authorized representatives, has received.. and responded to proposals made,, and WHEREAS, the City representatives have made proposals and • counter - proposals, and WHEREAS, the parties have been unable to reach agreement regarding improvements in employment benefits in spite of these efforts, and WHEREAS, the City '.Manager has made certain .wage recommenda- tions and the implementation of group and health insurance benefits for the employees in Maintenance Unit No. 2, and the Council finds that such recommendations are proper and beneficial, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Council authorizes the provisions of Attachment A, effective July 1, 1974. under the power and. authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regulary introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Petaluma on the 2 4th day of June 19 71 , by the following votes: AYES: COUNCILMEN BRUNNER, CAVANAGH, JR., DALY, HARBERSON, PERRY, JR., AND MAYOR PUTNAM. The existing salary ranges for the classifications included in the said resprese unit shall be increased by eight percent (8%) to the nearest dollar. 2. The City will pay the increased'charges for the following benefit improvements under its Group Health Insurance Program for employees and dependents: (a) Increase in major medical maximum. (b) New coverage for restorative surgery necessitated by a covered illness. (c) Increased hospital coverage from 180 to 365 days. (d) New coverage for chemotherapy. (e) New coverage for vasectomies and tubal ligations. (f) New coverage for limited out—patient psychiatric benefit. (g) Increase in the unit values paid for physicians' services. The City will pay the increased premium charges to go into effect July 1, 1974 for employee coverage (as distinguished from coverage for employees' dependents).
