THE CITY OF PETALUMA FOR THE 'PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE ELECTORS OF SAID CITY A ' REFERENDUM MEASURE RELATING TO THE REZONING OF CE:"RTAIN REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT AND NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF "I" STREET AND SUNNYSLOPE ROAD FROM PLANNED .COMMUN'ITY DISTRICT TO PLANNED UNIT 'DEVELOPMEN.T. A special election shall be and is hereby ordered be and will/held in. the City of ,Petaluma .(hereina"fter. called "City ") : on Tuesday, September .11, 1973, at which. election it shall be; submitted to. the 'qualified electors of the .Ci the..question of whether. or not 'Ordinance 1083 'N ..0 . S . shall be ' repealed . . . The 'question shall be ' .phra's':ed. as 'follows,: to wit: Shall Ordinance .1083 : N.C which rezones certain real property located at and near the inter - tion of "I Street and Sunnyslope Road from Planned Community District .to Planned" Unit De- velopment District' be repealed? Section 2., The, 'Council does, hereby. submit. to the qualified electors of the City. at said special election said measure set forth in Section 1 of this Resolution, and designates and refers to said .question in the form of ballot hereinafter: 'prescribed ` for use at said-election. (a) Said special election shall be held and conducted, and the .votes. thereof canvassed, and the returns thereof made, and the result thereof ascertained and determined, as herein provided; and in .all' particulars not prescribed by this resolution, said election shall be held as provided by law for the holding of municipal elections in the City (b) All persons qualified to vote at municipal ele in the - City: upon the date of the ;election ,herein provided, for shall be qualified to vote upon the question submitted at said special election. 1 ' .Y'. • (c) The polls at the polling places to be designated shall be opened at 7:00. o'clock `A.M., of said day of election and shall be kept ",open continuously thereafter until 8:00 o'clock P.M. of said day of election, when the polls shall be closed (except as provided it Section 1443.6 of the Election Code), and the election officers shall thereupon proceed to canvass the ballots cast thereat. Each .voter to vote for the'question hereby submitted shall stamp across ( +) in the blank space .opposite the word "YES "' on the ballot to the right of said question, ,and to vote against the question shall stamp a cross p (: ±) in the blank space opposite the word "NO" on the ballot to the 'right of said measure. The returns of said, election shall be made out and signed by the election officers and shall be by them deposited with the City Clerk, together with the ballots cast at said election and the Council shall meet at its usual meeting place and canvass said returns on Monday, the 17th day of September, 1973 . (the first Monday after ;said election) at the hour of 8 :00 o'clock P.M. and declare the'result of said election. Section 3, The City Clerk of the City is hereby directed, upon the passage and adoption of this resolution, to publish the same once a day for at least seven - ,(7) ;days n.,:the }et'ahuma Argus'- Courier which is a newspaper of general circulation published at least 'six (6.) days a week in the -City, and such publication shall constitute not±ce Of said election. No other notice of the election hereby called need be given. Section 4.
