1 REFERRING BINDING ARBITRATION MEASURE TO STAFF
2 FOR REPORT ON FISCAL, AND OTHER IMPACTS OF MEASURE
3 WHEREAS, A petition submitting a proposed Charter amendment to the voters
4 has a sufficient number of signatures to qualify it for inclusion on the
5 November 6, 1990, ballot; and,
~ WHEREAS, Said measure, if adopted, may have significant fiscal impacts on the
7 City of Petaluma; and,
8 WHEREAS, Elections Code Section 4009.5 authorizes the legislative body to refer
9 proposed initiative measures to any City agency for report on its fiscal
l0 impact and its effect on the internal consistency pursuant to the
11 Government Code:
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, ORDERED AND DECLARED by
13 the City Council of the City of Petaluma as follows:
14 Pursuant to Elections Code Section 4009.5,
15 (1) Within 30 days of the date of this resolution, staff shall report the
16 fiscal effect of the proposed Charter amendment adding Section 82 -
17 Police and Firefighters' Binding Arbitration; and,
18 (2) Within 30 days of the date of this resolution, staff shall report the
19 proposed amendment's effect on internal consistency.
