RESOLUTION APPROVING GOALS FOR THE
AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PLAN FISCAL YEAR 1990-91
WHEREAS, this City Council has approved the
Affirmative Action Plan by Resolution No. 7001 N . C . S . ; and,
timetables therefore,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to establish annual goals and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this council
hereby adopts the goals for the fiscal year 1990-91 contained in Exhibit
"A°', attached heretr~ and incorporated herein as if fully set forth.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.

SECTION IV
ANALYSIS OF FY 89-90 GOALS
GOAL: Place one Spanish surname employee and one female
employyee• into the position of Police Officer.
RESULT: Not accomplished.
ANALYSIS: Five officers were hired -all were white males.
GOAL: Place one female in the positron of Maintenance Worker.
RESULT: Not Accomplished.
ANALYSIS: No Maintenance Workers were hired during the Fiscal
Year .
GOAL: Place one female in the position of Park Maintenance
Worker.
RESULT: Not accomplished.
ANALYSIS: No Park. Maintenance workers were hired during the
Fiscal Year..
GOAL: Place one female in the postton of Firefighter.
RESULT: Not Accomplished.
ANALYSIS: There were no hires in the position of Firefighter or
Firefighter/Paramedic during the fiscal year.
GOAL: Place one Asian or Spanish female in the positon of
Account C]erk .
RESULT: Not Accomplished.
ANALYSIS: There was one hire during the Fiscal Year. The.
position was filled by a white female.
OTHER : In addition do these goals, the City gained minority
representation in another area. A female was hired
as a Recreation Supervisor, a management position.
GOALS OF FY 90-91
The fo]lflwing goals should be estab]ished for Fiscal Year 90-91.
GOAL : Place one female in the positifln of Police Officer .
Place one additional Spanish surname in the' position of Police
Officer .
GOAL: Place one female in the position of Park Maintenance Worker.
GOAL: Place one additional. female in the .position of Maintenance Worker.
GOAL: Place one female in the position of Firefighter.
GOAL: Place one Asian or Spanish surname .female in position of Account
Clerk .
N 0 T E : Since July 1, 199D,, the City has .hired one female Hispanic in the
position of Po]ce Officer Trainee and. one Asian in the Professional
level position of Civil Engineer Associate.
