AND CLOSING TO PUBLIC USE A OITION OF ENGLISH

Regular : meeting of the City Council of the City of Petaluma
on the 17th "day of 'July : , 1972 .
WHEREAS,. the Council of the City of Petaluma did, on the 19th
day of June, 1972 , adopt Jtsl Resolution. of Intention No. 6068 N.C .S . ,
' declaring its intention, to vacate and abandon and close to public use
a portion of English 'Street, hereinafter; described, which resolution
was duly and legally posted in the time,: form,: and manner as required
by law, as shown by the Affidavit of Posting on file in the Office of
the City. Clerk of said City; and
WHEREAS, 'after the adoption thereof,, notices of the passage
of said resolution, headed "Notice of Vacation, Abandonment and the
Closing to Public Use a Portion of English Street Between Western
Avenue and Post Street in the City of Petaluma" were duly and legally
posted in the time, form, and manner as required by law as shown by
the Affidavit of Posting oh file 'in the Office of the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS , said Council has , on the 17th day of July , .1972 ; ,
held a public hearing for the purpose of hearing the evidence of any
person interested in or objecting to said proposed abandonment and
vacation; and
WHEREAS , •said Council having duly received and considered
evidence concerning the jurisdictional facts in this proceeding and
finds from all the evidence submitted that the street hereinafter

described; is unnecessary for present or' prospective public street 'pur-
poses , and the said Council, of the 'City' of Petaluma having :new acquired
jurisdiction to order the proposed abandonment and vacation;.;
NOW, THEREFORE , BE' IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Petaluma, pursuant to and in accordance with 'the authority contained,
in the Street Vacation Act of 1941, that the following street in said
City be., and the 'same ,i-s hereby ordered vacated , abandoned , and forever
closed to public use:
Beginning at ;a point on the southerly line of English
Street .where it. intersects with the southerly extension
of the east line of Post Street, said point being the
northwest corner. of Lot 272 as shown on the "Map of the
City. of -Petaluma., Sonoma County, California" as surveyed
by Stratton, Deputy Surveyor , in December 1865 , and as
said map is filed in Roller #5 , Sonoma County Records .
Also-, said northwest corner of Lot' 272 is shown on the
official map filed in ,Book 3 of Maps at Page :11 , ,Sonoma
County. Official 'Records . Thence• 'from said point of
beginning along the southerly line 'Of English Street
N 43° 57 " E, 127...7 feet; thence leaving the southerly
line of English Street at right angles, N 46° 03 ' W,
60 . 0 feet to the northerly line of English Street S 43 °
57 ' W, 131 feet more or less to the southwest corner of
Lot 274 as shown on the map filed in Book 3 of Maps at
Page 11 , Official Rederds; thence S 49° 09" E,. 60 . 9 feet
to the point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City: Clerk- is directed to
cause certified copy of this resolution, attested by said Clerk
under the seal of said City., to be 'recorded in the Office of the
Recorder. of Sonoma County, California

I hereby certify that- the foregoing resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council
of the City. of Petaluma on the 17th' day of July
1972 , by the following, vote :
