WHEREAS, B. A: (Pat) SHANNON , General Manager of Greater
Petaluma Area Chamber of Commerce has requested on behalf of the Downtown
Merchants ' Assn. permission for the closing of Kentucky Street between
Western and Washington Streets , on Friday; August 4th, and Saturday,
August 5th, 1972 , between the hours of 8 : 00 o ' clock A.M. and 10 : 00 o ' clock
p.m. , for the purpose of conducting the Annual Sidewalk Sales ;
NOW, THEREFORE., BE IT RESOLVED that the above request be , and
the same is , hereby granted ; subject , however , that a twenty foot (20 ' )
lane be left open for emergency vehicle passage and , subject further to
the deposit of $ 38 . 40 which is the estimated parking meter income for the
two above-mentioned days ,
under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter Of said City.
