EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Ghilotti Construction Company has"completed the Phase:2 CorteLDrive Reconstruction and McKenzie Avenue, Coronado-Drive; Cortez,Drive and McGregor Avenue Project for a final construction cost of$324,783.35: The final project cost is estimated at $425;000, which includes planning, design, construction, inspection and administration. The approved budget for this project was $463,557. • 2. BACKGROUND:, On July 17, 2000, the City Council awarded a contract to Ghilotti Construction Company, for the above- referenced project. The project reconstructing Cortez Drive between McKenzie Avenue and McNeil Avenue due:to street damages caused by the 1998 winter storms and. installing a storm drain system in McKenzie Avenue, Coronado,Drive; Cortez Drive and McGregor Avenue to alleviate local flooding (see Exhibit A for location map). The contractor has completed the work for a final contract-cost of$324,783.35. The 1'0%u:retention payment is due and payable 35 days after the.Crty:Clerk records the Notice of Completion. Staff successfully obtained a-grant from Federal Emergency;Manag"ement Agency(FEMA) in the amountof$160,000 to partially finance the reconstruction of Cortez Drive and a portion of • the storm drain improvement: 3. ALTERNATIVES: Accept the completion of the project. 4. FINANCIAL IMPACTS: The total cost of this project is $425,000, which is funded by FEMA Fund ($160,000), Gas Tax ($67,500), and Storm_DrainFees ($197,500). The approved budget was $463,557. • 5. CONCLUSION: • Following the acceptance of the project,the City Clerk will file a Notice.of Completion with Sonoma County Recorder and the Finance Department will-release the 10 •retention to the contractor 35:days after,the recordation:of the Notice Of Completion. 6.
