Brown, City Mana SUBJECT: Resolution Recommending Appointments to the Mayors' & Councilmembers' Association to Fill Vacancies on the Remote Access Network Board and the Association of Bay.Area Governments (ABAG) / San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached resolution recommending appointments to the Mayors'& Councilmembers' Association and giving the Mayor authority to vote on late nominations received at their February 9, 2012 meeting. BACKGROUND The Mayors' & Councilmembers"Association, which includes all the Sonoma County cities, fills vacancies on various locator regional Boards or Commissions when the terms of office expire or upon resignations. Letters of interest are circulated to all cities by those elected officials wishing to serve, followed by the cities voting on their recommendations at an upcoming meeting of the Association. DISCUSSION The vacancies are as follows: 1. Remote Access Network (RAN) Board. One.position, unspecified term. Appointment must be,a Mayor. Position is currently vacant, to fill the term vacated by Gina Belforte (Rohnert Park). Letter of interest was received from: • Jake Mackenzie (Rohnert Park) 2. Association ofBay Area Governments (ABAG), San,Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC) —one position, with nominations considered by ABAG from Marin, Sonoma,Napa and Solano counties. In Sonoma County, only nominees from Petaluma are eligible for consideration. Final appointment made by ABAG Executive Board.
