The City Council at their June 26, 2000 meeting awarded the contract to Henris Roofing Company to re-
roof Free Stations 2 and 3.
Total cost of the project was S126,326:32.

10 1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: •
11 The City Council at,their June 26, 2000 meetingawarded the contract to-re-roof Fire
12 Stations 2 and 3. Henris Roofing of Petaluma was awarded the coritract for $122,865.
13 Total cost of the project is $126,326.32 funded from the Community Facilities Fund.

15 2. BACKGROUND:
16 The roofs for the Fire Stations 2 and 3 had deteriorated to the point where water -
17 penetration was damaging office areas and living quarters. The project to re-roof the two
18 fire houses was budgeted from the Community Facilities Fund.

20 Bid packages were sent to eleven roofing firms and four builders' exchanges. One
21 response was received and the City Council awarded the project to Henris Roofing of
22 Petaluma at a cost of$122, 865. During the course of the project one change order
23 totaling.$3461.31 was issued for asbestos removal.

40 City Clerk to file Notice of Completion; if no or stop notices are received 35 days
41 after recordation of the Notice of Completion, the Finance Department is authorized to
42 release the 10% retention.

n WHEREAS, the City Council awarded the contract to re-roof Fire Stations 2.and 3 to
12 Henris Roofing Company, P.O. Box 138, Petaluma, California 94953, on June 26, 2000.

14 WHEREAS, Henris Roofing Company has completed all work to the satisfaction of the
15 Director of Parks and Recreation.

17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
is Petaluma, that this project to re-roof Fire Stations 2 and 3 is hereby accepted for a total cost of
19 5126,326.32 and,

21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized to
22 sign the Notice of Completion and file the notice of completion with the Sonoma County
03 Recorder; and

25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,-that the Finance Department is hereby authorized to
26 release the ten (10%) percent retention to Henris Roofing Company thirty-five (35) days after the
27 recordation of the Notice of Completion, provided that no liens or stop notices have been filed
28 against the project.

9 APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE OF FIRE
10 STATIONS 2 AND 3,AWARDING THE CONTRACT TO HENRIS SUPPLY, INC. AND
11 AUTHORIZING A TOTAL BUDGET OF $130,000

16 WHEREAS, bids have heretofore been invited in accordance with law for the performance of
17 certain work for the City of Petaluma generally described as the re-roofing of Fire Stations 2 and 3;
18 and
19
20 WHEREAS, bids were received, opened, and read in accordance with law and the Director of
21 Parks and Recreation has made his report thereon, a copy of which is attached hereto and by reference
22 incorporated herein; and
23
24 WHEREAS, the City Council has thoroughly considered said report of the Director of Parks •
25 and Recreation and as a result has concluded that the bid of Henris Supply Inc., P.O. Box 138,
26 Petaluma, CA 94953 was the lowest bid received and;
27
28 WHEREAS, the City Council has thoroughly considered said report of the.Director of Parks
29 and Recreation and as a result has concluded that the bid of Henris Supply, Inc., on the basis of the
30 solicitation for performance in accordance with the aforesaid solicitation and bid submitted, be and the .
31 same is hereby approved and accepted; and

33 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,that the City Council of the City of Petaluma, all
34 prerequisite findings and determinations having been made in accordance with law, that the bid of said
35 computed to toal;$122,865 on the basis of the solicitation and bid submitted, be and the same is hereby
. 36 approved and accepted; and

38 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Petaluma authorizes a total budget of
39 $130,000; and

1 IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Petaluma enter into a.contract with the said
rsuccessful bidder for performance as herein indicated for the•amount of said bid and for performance
in accordance with plans and specifications heretofore prepared, approved and on file in the office of
4 the Director of Parks and Recreation, and the City Manager be and is hereby authorized and direct to
5 execute such contract, and the City Director of Finance is hereby authorized to pay all proper claims
