Your organization is invite •to consider serving as a-member of,the new Sonoma County
Business Energy and Water Conservation Task Force. This Task Force will study the future
challenges and opportunities regarding,voluntary energy and,water conservation for business
• and agriculture in this county,and will offer-recommendations,on ways to overcome those
obstacles and enhance oppo`muuties.
Toward this end,we are inviting a representative cross-section of the county's key sectors to
sit down together, share perspectives;,and prepare an action plan that can be presented to
the Board of Supervisors, the Water Agency,PG&E, aild.the'conimunitywithin six months.
This "blue ribbon" group will meet fora total of 15 hours during the next six months. It will
be staffed with research and report-writing services. This;pro-active approach to the
opportunities that voluntary business water and energy coriservatioh present is timely indeed.
Accordingly;please take.a moment to complete the enclosed response form and return it by
March Z.2001.Thank you for your interest in enhancing voluntary business water and energy
conservation in Sonoma County.

Mission, Overview,Outcomes,Terms, and Composition
MISSION: To promote voluntary energy-and water conservation in the business
community by planning and implementing policies and programs that are supportive of the
water and energy resources available'for•business and agriculture in the region.
OVERVIEW: Sonoma County business and agriculture are facing a growing challenge with
energy and water use The,Business Water and Energy Conservation Task Force will serve
to address the critical needs and opportunities in this area that if unmet,would jeopardize
business and agriculture's future in our area.

EXPECTED RESULTS/OUTCOMES FROM A BLUE RIBBON TASK FORCE

PLAN •
1. Invite a group of interested business and ag leaders to oversee the development and
implementation of an.action'plan
2. Meet semi-monthly to review progress
3. Prepare a report and action plan to the Board of Supervisors,the Water Agency,
PG&E, the local business, ag,Land'educational institutions, and other key sectors of
Sonoma County for support within eight months of the group's first meeting.
TERM Spring 2001-Autumn 2001
TIME 15 hours, spread over 7 meetings of 2 hours each.
COMPOSE!ION
Group representing 10 to 15 leaders from a cross-section of key sectors of the Sonoma
County business and ag community.
