RESOLUTION IN OPPOSITION TO AB 761 ESTABLISIIING
MOBILE IIOME VACANCY DECONTROL
WIIEREAS, the City of Petaluma adopted Ordinance No. 1949 NCS (dated May 14,
1994) titled Mobilehome Park Space Rent Stabilization Program; and,
WI~IEREAS, the Petaluma City Council continues to support a stated purpose of the
Ordinance (6.505.010, O, (5) "...prevent excessive or exploitive rent increases upon the transfer
of a mobilehome=on-site..." and,
WIIEREAS, AB 761 would erode the City's efforts to support the community's low-
income senior mobile home residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Petaluma City Council opposes AB
761 (Calderon) and directs staff to submit letters of opposition in a timely fashion if the bill
progresses through the legislative process.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
