FROM: Dan St. John, Pubh • . kann A Director SUBJECT: Resolution Approving Application to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the Airport Improvement Program AIP 23.FY 12/13 Grant Funding and to the California Department of Transportation Caltrans Division of Aeronautics for a 2.5% Grant Match and.Authorizing City Manager to Accept Grant Funding from Both Agencies and Execute All Grant Related Documents RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached Resolution Approving Application to the Federal Aviation Administration,(FAA) for the Airport Improvement Program AIP 23 FY 12/13 Grant Funding and to the California Department of Transportation Caltrans Division of Aeronautics for a 2.5% Grant Match and Authorizing City Manager to Accept Grant Funding from Both Agencies and Execute All Grant Related Documents. BACKGROUND • Each year the FAA makes available.to general aviation airports matching entitlement grant funding as part of their Airport Improvement Program (AIP). In addition to the federal funding Caltrans Division of Aeronautics offers a matching 2.5% grant to the AIP program DISCUSSION At it's'October 6, 2011 meeting, the Airport Commission,recommended using the FY 12/13 AIP 23 for the Replacement of Airfield Petaluma Guidance'Sighage, Runway Pavement Rehabilitation and Replacement of the Voltage Regulator project. FINANCIAL IMPACTS The projected cost of the above project is $262,750 of which the FAA grant portion (95%) is $249,613. The Caltrans match is''$6,568 and the remaining local grant match of$6,569 will be included in the Airport Capital Projects Budget FY 12/13.
