HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2012-031 N.C.S. 03/19/2012 Resolution No. 2012-031 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California APPROVING APPLICATION TO THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION (FAA) FOR THE AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM AIP 23 FYI2/13 GRANT FUNDING AND TO THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION CALTRANS DIVISION OF AERONAUTICS FOR A 2.5% GRANT MATCH AND AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT GRANT FUNDING FROM BOTH AGENCIES AND EXECUTE ALL GRANT RELATED DOCUMENTS WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration FAA makes available to general aviation airports matching entitlement grant funding as part of their Airport Improvement Program (AIP); and, WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation Caltrans Division of Aeronautics offers a 2.5% match to the FAA approved AIP grant pursuant to Public Utilities Code Section 211683; and, WHEREAS, at its October 6, 2011 meeting the Petaluma Airport Commission recommended using this year's AIP 23 grant funding Replace of the Airfield Guidance Signage, Runway Pavement Rehabilitation and Replacement of the Voltage Regulator project; and, WHEREAS, the projected cost of the above project is $262,750.00 of which the FAA grant portion( 95%) is $249,613.00 and the Caltrans match is $6,568.00; and, WHEREAS, the remaining local match of$6,569.00 will be identified in the Airports Capital Projects Budget FY12/13; and, WHEREAS, Caltrans requires the Petaluma City Council to adopt a resolution authorizing submission of an application for the State match to the AIP 23 grant. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Petaluma: Resolution No. 2012-031 N.C.S. Page 1 1. Approves application to the FAA for AIP 23 FY 13/14 entitlement grant funding 2. Approves the application to Caltrans Division of Aeronautics for a 2.5% grant match 3. Authorizes City Manager to accept grant funding from both agencies 4. Authorizes City Manager to execute all grant related documents Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
