Seconded by Mike O'Brien Mike Healy AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH SPEED LIMITS ON CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN THE CITY OF PETALUMA BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That pursuant to California Vehicle Code 22357, 22358, and 22358.3, the radar enforceable speed zone segments on the following Petaluma City streets are hereby established: Speed4Limit Street From To .. MPH/[Kin/HQ Cypress Drive McDowell Boulevard South Cypress Drive Eyebrow 30/50 Extension Ellis Street East Washington Street Madison Street 25/40 Hartman Lane Riesling Road Ely Road 25/40 Madison Street Lakeville Street Arlington Drive 25/40 McDowell Boulevard Rainier Avenue Lynch Creek Drive 35/55 North Payran Street East Washington Street Jefferson Street 25/40 Pine View Way Cypress Drive Lakeville Highway 30/50 Riesling Road Sonoma Mountain Parkway Hartman Lane 25/40 Sonoma Mountain East Madison Street Ely Road 35/55 Parkway Wood Sorrel Drive Morning Glory Drive Capri Drive 25/40 (Extension of speed limit zone based on Police Department request and condition changes.) Traffic and engineering surveys are completed and are hereby expressly approved as speed limits for the streets to which they apply herein. Section 3 . If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase or word of this ordinance is for any reason held to be unconstitutional, unlawful or otherwise invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance. The City Council of the City of Petaluma hereby declares that it would have passed and adopted this ordinance and each and all provisions thereof irrespective of the fact that any one or more of said provisions be declared unconstitutional, unlawful or otherwise invalid. Section 4 . This ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after the date of its adoption by the Petaluma City Council. Section 5 . The City Clerk is hereby directed to post this ordinance for the period and in the manner required by the City Charter. INTRODUCED and ordered posted/wed this 18th day of October 2004.
