NO. 150-020-025 13 14 15 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA AS FOLLOWS: 16 17 Section 1. 18 The 1987 General Plan identified the desire to prepare a River Plan for the implementation of 19 public access and riverfront enhancement and restoration goals and objectives. Said Plan was 20 prepared as the River Access and Enhancement Plan, which was adopted in 1996. Said Plan 21 identified public access, riparian habitat enhancement, bank stabilization and storm flow 22 improvements that were possible along the riverfront properties upstream of the Corona Road 23 river bridge. 24 25 Section 2. 26 The City Council, on April 2"d, 2001, authorized City Management to seek a grant from the State 27 of California Department of Water Resources to acquire fee title to the property known as the 28 Grange property, AP No. 150-020-025., located on Industrial Avenue; which said grant was 29 approved. 30 Ord. 2126 NCS H:pt/River Plan/TPVlegislation\Grange purchase.doc Page 1 1 Section 3. 2 The Trust for Public Lands, on behalf of the City of Petaluma, has conducted negotiations with 3 the property owner resulting in an agreed upon purchase option. 4 5 Section 4. 6 The City Council finds that acquisition of said parcel is consistent with the General Plan of the 7 City of Petaluma and is exempt under Section 15316 of the California Environmental Quality 8 Act guidelines because the acquisition is being pursued to establish future public access. The 9 City Manager is authorized to execute all documents related to this action of purchasing the 10 Grange property. 11 12 INTRODUCED and ordered posted this 7th day of January 2002. 13 14 ADOPTED this 28th day of January, 2002 by the following vote: 15 AYES: O'Brien, Torliatt, Cader-Thompson, Maguire, Mayor Thompson 16 NOES: None 17 ABSENT: Vice Mayor Healy 18 ABSTAIN: Moynihan 19 20 21 22 E.
