STANLEY FOR HIS DEVOTED SERVICE TO THE CITY OF PETALUMA AS A MEMBER OF THE 'PETALUMA CITY' PLANNING COMMISSION r INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMAN ' . l�. !� '(/ --- and SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN 1.y, .;� 4. 62 e",.-- at a Regular Meeting of the City. Council of, theJ City of Petaluma on the '7th day of — September:September , 19'71,.' BE IT RESOLVED that this Council finds as follows : 1. Paul R. Stanley was first appointed to the ' Petaluma, Planning Commission on October 3, 19.60 , ' and served thereon until 'June 30 ; 1967 . He was reappointed September 16 , ,1968 , to: fill the unex- pired term. of Larry Fos'tmeier,which 'term expired June 30, 1971'. 2. During his terms of office.; many important and far reaching planning decisions were made . All of these required his active participation and considered exercise of judgment; in this he gave unstintingly and conscientiously. Among the major decisions of 'import early in his service ,. was the adoption of the General Plan and a new zoning ordinance. As the City grew and its needs changed, he was in the forefront in recommending an updating of our General Plan and zoning ordinance . This need' led to the hiring of Williams and Mocine, Planning Consultants , Mr. Stanley actively engaged - 1 - z ' in cooperative efforts with the Consultants in order to present this City`s view of its needs and demands. His contribution and assistance was very great. 3 . This Council , on behalf of its members and the citizens of the City of Petaluma, sincerely and heartily commends Paul R. Stanley for his unselfish 'devoted service to this City and its citizens . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as a tribute to his service, the City Clerk is directed to forward a .certified copy of this resolution as a token of the appreciation of the Council and of the citizens of the City of Petaluma. ** **. ** I hereby certify that the foregoing reso- lution was fully and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the '.City of Petaluma on the 7th day of September .
