RESOLUTION COMMENDING WILLIAM A. PERRY
FOR HIS DEVOTED SERVICE TO THE CITY. OF
PETALUMA AS A MEMBER OF THE
PETALUMA CITY PLANNING COMMISSION

Regular Meeting of the City Council of the -City of Petaluma
on the 7th day of September 4.- 1971 .
WHEREAS ; WILLIAM A. PERRY was appointed to the
Planning Commission July 1, 1967 ; for a four year term which '.
expired June 30 , 19.71 , and this Council desires to have on
official record its appreciation for his services ;
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED that this Council
finds as follows :
1. Commissioner Perry can take justifiable pride
that in his service as Planning Commissioner,
he was very instrumental seeing to the accom-
plishment, among other things , of a modifica-
tion to, the General Plan incorporating airport
location, the establishment of a Service Sta-
tion Ordi-nance, the establishment of the
Mobilehome Park Ordinance , and 'the .guidelines
therefore, and the establishment of plan lines
for East Washington Street.
2 . During his tenure as member of the Planning
Commission, many difficult problems arose, to

which he gave freely of his, time •and effort.
The probl'eMs of a Planning Commissioner are
many and varied, require Considered judgment
and unselfish .service in often very difficult
and, trying circumstances . At all times he
met 'all problems with equanimity and considered
judgment. At all times he served the Planning
Commission and the City of Petaluma with dis-
tinction, expres's'ing deep concern for the
planning needs of a fast growing city.. In ad-
dition he was of great assistance 'to Williams
and Mocine.,. Planning Consultants', by partici-
pating fully in the consultants ' advisory
committee.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Council expresses.
the appreciation of itself and of the entire City for the
faithful, untiring, and unselfish service rendered by William
A. Perr y as a Planning Commission and as 'a citizen.
As a tribute of his service as a Commissioner , it
is hereby directed that:a certified copy of this 'Resolution
be Presented to 'hm.

I hereby certify that the foregoing reso-
lution was fully and regularly introduced
and adopted by the Council of the 'City of
Petaluma on the ' 7thday of ' SPptehber •
1971, by the following vote':
